Augustine Paredes

Augustine Paredes (b. 1994, Philippines) is an artist in pursuit of critical earnestness. His material and archival research interrogates diasporic identities, post-colonial artefacts, and historical narratives. He works with photography, painting, poetry, performance, and installation.
Augustine currently lives between Frankfurt, London, and Nice.
Along with Anna Bernice delos Reyes, they founded Sa Tahanan Co., creating a platform for Filipino art and creatives through exhibitions, art sales, and collaborations.
He published art and poetry books entitled Slow Disco (2024), The Bitter Taste of Sweetness (2022), Happy to be here to be happy (2022), Long Night Stands With Lonely, Lonely Boys (2021), and Conversations at the end of the universe (2020).
In 2o25, Paredes established Friendly Fires Small Press to support fellow artists in producing limited edition printed matter.
He works as a freelance writer, photographer, and editor.
