Hold Me Through This Hold Me

Public Installation at Sole DXB 2022

Freedom. Presents: Augustine Paredes Sole DXB, 2022

Tapestry (Acrylic on acrylic, T-shirt fabric, Tulle)

Hold Me Through This Hold Me is a two-part tapestry piece responding to an idealized future. Intricately made with three colors that lie in different places of a spectrum, this artwork looks at togetherness amidst multi-faceted differences and separation. There is naiveté in thinking that in the future, everyone will have undone and unlearned the current societal climate. It is vital to have hope that, in'the future, despite our differences, we can and need to find a way to hold each other through this.
